About Us

Our Church began on June 15, 1962. Monsignor Edwin Bobe was appointed its first pastor. The first Church was built to seat 300 people and the first mass was celebrated on December 16, 1962. Today the sanctuary seats approximately 1,000 people and the Church has a membership of over 1300 families. The Very Reverend Vernon F. Huguley is the Pastor, and Reverend Raymond J. Remke is the Parochial Vicar.


The Church offers a full range of activities both in the parish as well as outreach to the local and international community. Saint Peter’s celebrates Mass in Spanish on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.


The Parish School of Religion has an enrollment of over 250 children.


We have an outstanding Child Development Center serving over 200 children from six weeks of age through 4K. Mrs. Kristina Wildsmith is the Director of the Child Development Center and can be reached by calling (205) 822-9461.


The Youth Program of the Parish involves children from grades 5K – 12th. The Elementary Youth Group typically meets monthly during the school year. Junior High and High School Youth Groups meet weekly. Call the office for more details
